What Is It Like To Be Dyslexic. Sam Barclay is a graphic designer photographer and author of the book I Wonder What its Like to be Dyslexic. 81 of dyslexic readers felt they could read faster and 73 said they made fewer letters. Two words that have been giving me trouble for as long as I can remember. I always thought it was weird that I could never get these two words correct until I realized I was dyslexic when I was a junior in high school.
Like students with dysgraphia students with dyslexia have a difficulty learning to spell. Every one around me thought that I was poor at school poor at sports poor at sp. This is why its important especially for teachers and parents to understand the signs of dyslexia. Because students with dyslexia expend so much energy on decoding their oral. Dyslexia is known as a hidden disability and can be misinterpreted. They might be told theyre dumb or slow but the fact is that dyslexics are perfectly capable.
Best of all it appears that this new font may really be a game-changer.
This book absolutely gripped me from page one mainly because Sam isnt a dyslexic specialist but he is himself dyslexic. As a child I always knew I was different but not the kind of child people thought. Dyslexia is known as a hidden disability and can be misinterpreted. Struggling to utter the word. Dyslexia has no known cure and is often paired with ADHD making the double whammy of being unable to focus and unable to read one that leaves many students struggling. But this is damn close.
